Treasures of Wisconsin is a new hard cover book which has just been published and it contains a number of pages with Watertown and area references.
The book is in a large format and includes color photography on every page. It's a pleasant production and a perfect gift or for coffee tables.
The book was written by Damon Neal and is part of a large series of books on various states in the country, and apparently more of them will be coming in the future.
Basically, the author highlights some special places to visit throughout the state. The state is broken up into six geographical areas. They are Northern Wisconsin, Door County, Central Wisconsin, South Central Wisconsin (including Dodge and Jefferson counties), Lake Country just to our east, and Southeastern Wisconsin.
Each of these segments are subdivided into sections on accommodations; bakeries, coffee & tea; fashion; gardens, plants and flowers; health and beauty; home; markets; recreation; restaurants; shopping; and wineries.
Among those featured from Watertown are Berres Brothers Coffee Roasters, Fischer's Store, Glenn's Market and Catering, Kraemer Wisconsin Cheese, Mullen's Dairy Bar & Eatery, Upper Krust Restaurant and Pie Shop, and Far Horizons Imports. Many, but not all of them, include photos of the place of business.
... It was fun paging through the book and learning about some of these special places.Read the entire article at Watertown Daily Times online >>
